Why Kai is built around composer and musician Kai von der Lippe and lies at the intersection of jazz, club electronica, and chamber music. Tourist (2024), the debut album, is conceived as a continuous journey, a walk through the city from a visitor's perspective, in which acoustic and electronic sounds are linked in a coherent flow. The music combines synthesizers and field recordings with constant grooves in a gradually evolving construction. The direction had already been announced on the LP Deep Fishing (2021), and Tourist develops and establishes it in a personal, recognizable language.
