In 1999, American drummer Bobby Previte was setting up an North-American supergroup, co-opting in this project the avant-garde master of the alto sax Marty Ehrlich, trombone innovator Ray Anderson, celebrated pianist and composer Wayne Horvitz and legendary bass player Steve Swallow. The group named itself Bump and embarked on a 5-year world tour covering Europe, the United States and South America. The five performed at grand festivals suchs as Saalfeden and North Sea Jazz, and in cities such as Rio and Malta.

In 2019, 20 years later, Bobby Previte reunites the group under the name Bobby Previte’s Classic Bump Band, for a grand European tour with one stop being Gărâna Jazz Festival. Bass player Jerome Harris replaces Steve Swallow during this tour. Jerome Harris is considered one of the most versatile American guitar players. He was the bass guitarist of Sonny Rollins between 1988-1994 and has collaborated with Jack DeJohnette, Bill Frisell, Don Byron, Oliver Lake, Bob Stewart, George Russell, Julius Hemphill and Bob Moses.
