Critics cannot hide their enthusiasm when it comes to Edgar Knecht‘s music.

It is, however, true – the music created by the German pianist is fresh and surprisingly good – a fusion of jazz vivaciousness, world music, classical composition elegance and clarity as well as the depth of old folklore tunes.
The new Edgar Knecht Trio album – „Personal Seasons” (2019, Ozella) is the last of a trilogy dedicated to Germanic folklore songs. The album was considered, by many German critics, as the best of the year. The undisputed quality of this album is also due to trumpet player Frederik Köster, invited to bring his own creative contribution. Frederik Köster is the winner of two ECHO jazz awards (the most prestigious music award in Germany).
