“Bright” is the name of the 2013 debut album of Kari Ikonen Trio and it marks the truly bright future on the international jazz scene for the three musicians. The following one, “Beauteous Tales and Offbeat Stories”, in 2015, quickly becomes album of the week on NDR and is short-listed for the Jazz-Emma (as album of the year). The latest album signed Kari Ikonen Trio, “Wind, Frost & Radiation” (2018), brings the leader recognition as The Flame Jazz 2018 Artist of The Year.

Drummer Kari Ikonen also has remarkable contributions alongside Gnomus, Mia Simanainen Ahava, Slo Motive, Lee Konitz, Bob Moses, Ingrid Jensen, Magnus Broo, Vincent Courtois, Ron McClure, Markus Holkko Quartet, Jyväskylä Big Band and UMO Jazz Orchestra.
