Marcin Wasilewski Trio is one of the brightest stars of the Polish jazz scene. The trio consists of pianist Marcin Wasilewski, bassist Sławomir Kurkiewicz and drummer Michał Miśkiewicz. They have been playing together for 30 years and are highly regarded both in Poland and abroad for their extraordinary talent in combining tradition with contemporary sounds. “In the entire history of Polish jazz there has never been a group like this,” says Tomasz Stanko, who co-opted them into his band for a long time and mentored them. The Marcin Wasilewski Trio have also collaborated with Joe Lovano, Joakim Milder, Trygve Seim, Jakob Bro, Manu Katché.
In 2021, they released their sixth album with ECM, En attendant. On this album, fluidity is the hallmark of the band, combined with deep listening, the result of over a quarter of a century of musical collaboration.
