Oded Tzur is an innovative musician whose original saxophone playing technique, The Middle Path, has thrilled critics and audiences alike in concert and on each of his four signature recordings. “If a curtain were drawn in front of him, no one could tell what instrument he plays,” says his mentor, Hariprasad Chaurasia. Oded Tzur has developed and refined an unmistakable style, blending raga and jazz like no other.

The Oded Tzur Quartet includes pianist Nitai Hershkovits, Petros Klampanis on bass and drummer Johnathan Blake. They have released two successful albums in this line-up and have been dubbed the “Coltrane Quartet of the 21st Century”. On their latest album with ECM Records, Isabela (2022), the four musicians use a subtle musical language in an intense space, exploring the nuances and colours of a raga.
