𝐏𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐉𝐚𝐳𝐳 𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞 - 𝑎 𝑙𝑦𝑟𝑖𝑐 𝑜𝑓 𝐵𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑛 8 𝑚𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑠𝑐𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑠 is a touring spoken word and improvised music performance making its way through the historic Banat, arriving, now, at the Gărâna Jazz Festival, at the Catholic Church in Văliug, on July 13, at 1 pm.
𝐏𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐉𝐚𝐳𝐳 𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞 presents a variety of selections structured in a single lyrical body forming a great poem-organism, unfolding in a succession of thematic scenes designed to reveal the richness of an almost forgotten cultural heritage, highlighting its multiculturality and its particular conceptual diversity (the lyric poetry of various ethnic groups, movements and regional trends such as Aktionsgruppe Banat or Monodersilism).
The performance is curated by the tandem "unu unu unu invers invers unu" (composed of 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐢 𝐌𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐢 - artist and performer - and 𝐌𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐮 - poet and performer) and performed together with jazz musicians: 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐲 and 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐲-𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐚𝐦𝐢.
The event is part of 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐲 – 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲, a project that was launched in 2023 as part of the Timișoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture Program, traveled to Reșița, Timișoara, with the Banat Semering, on the Anina-Oravița Railway, the oldest mountain railway on the current territory of Romania, and returns to Văliug, in Caraș.
The project is part of the national cultural program "Timisoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded by the Legacy Timisoara 2023 program, run by the Timisoara City Council Project Centre, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the Ministry of Culture.
