Over more than three decades, Julien Lourau and Bojan Z have built one of the most solid collaborations in French jazz. Their meeting, which began in the late 1980s, was not about individual affirmation, but about building a common language capable of questioning the tradition of jazz. In the 2000s, their collaboration became a benchmark for a French scene open to groove, urban influences, and electronic music, recording Fire & Forget (2005) and Duo (2015) together. Their concerts are based on musical empathy and intense, direct dialogue: two voices that challenge each other with humor, energy, and nonconformity.
