ØKSE is an international project that brings together musicians from the experimental jazz scene in a formula that constantly pushes the boundaries of the genre. Their debut album, ØKSE, won the 2025 Deutscher Jazzpreis – Album of the Year (International) and Danish Music Award - Alternative Jazz Release of the Year, two major accolades for a project making its first recording appearance. The group brings together Danish saxophonist Mette Rasmussen, American drummer Savannah Harris, Swedish double bassist Petter Eldh, and Haitian musician Val Jeanty. Critics have noted how ØKSE dissolves the barriers between free jazz, rap, ritual traditions, and improvisation without losing the overall coherence or shared energy of the music.
