Radu Vâlcu Quintet is an assembly of professional musicians with classical and jazz backgrounds. The heterogeneity of the group is noticeable at the compositional level - influenced by classical contemporary music, classical minimalism and also contemporary jazz mixed with world music from Balkans and Middle East. Founded in 2019, RVQ quickly established itself through sold-out concerts and a unique sound identity. The quintet has performed at the most important festivals in Romania: George Enescu Festival, 3Sound Fest, Jazz in the Park, Csiky Jazz, JazzX. They have organized two national tours and released two studio albums (Daydream and Shapes), as well as a live EP, at Sala Radio (Visions).
