Rebekka Bakken is one of Europe's most distinctive voices, difficult to pigeonhole into a single genre: singer-songwriter, jazz, Americana, folk, soul, or blues. After her extraordinary concert in 2023, she returns to the Gărâna Jazz Festival with a new repertoire. The album “Nord”, released in 2025, is sung mainly in Norwegian, with passages in English and Arabic, and brings together traditional songs and new compositions, supported by psychedelic grooves. The Norwegian press received the album with enthusiasm, considering it the artist's most personal work. Rebekka Bakken says that "Nord" is music in which suffering is transformed into beauty, an approach that invites reflection on life.
