Garana Jazz Festival 22<\/strong> is happy to announce the presence of new artists on the stages of the festival that will take place 12-15 July 2018 <\/strong>in Wolf\u2019s Meadow, Garana, Romania<\/strong>. The organizers decided, once again, to meet the varied preference of jazz fans by putting together a line-up of Grammy winners and nominees, as well as winners of other prestigious European awards, alongside Romanian musicians with successful national and international projects. The same organizers are hopeful that each member of the audience will find joy, relaxation intense emotions and unforgettable moments within the proposed stylistic and cultural diversity.<\/p>\n These are the artists that have already confirmed their presence at Garana Jazz Festival.<\/p>\n Stanley Clarke Band<\/strong> (USA)<\/p>\n With a career spanning 40 years, 4 Grammies, over 20 solo albums and tens of others as co-leader and sideman, Stanley Clarke<\/strong> is truly a living legend<\/em> among jazz musicians. Stanley Clarke revolutionized bass playing technique, turning it from a support instrument into a complete solo one. He returns to Garana Jazz Festival with a band of exceptional young musicians – Beka Gochiashvili<\/strong> on piano, Caleb Sean McCampbell<\/strong> on keyboards and voice and Shariq Tucker<\/strong> on drums.<\/p>\n Sly & Robbie with Nils Petter Molv\u00e6r, Eivind Aarset, Vladislav Delay <\/strong>(Jamaica, Norway, Finland)<\/p>\n Two legendary stars of reggae music, Sly & Robbie<\/strong>, will be star guests of the festival! Their innovative project, Nordub<\/em>, includes Norwegian musicians Nils Petter Molv\u00e6r<\/strong> \u2013 on trumpet and Eivind Aarset<\/strong> \u2013 on electric guitar, as well as Vladislav Delay<\/strong> \u2013 a much appreciated Finnish electronic music artist. The give musicians manage to break the boundaries of their genres to create unique sounds, mixing a large ranges of rhythms, from reggae to electronic, sub, nu jazz and world music.<\/p>\n Avishai Cohen\u2019s Big Vicious <\/strong>(Israel)<\/p>\n Extravagant, lyrical, rebellious and contemplative, the versatile Israeli trumpet player Avishai Cohen<\/strong> has already been, for many years, an amazing presence on the international jazz scene. He is considered one of the best trumpet players of our time.\u00a0 At Garana Jazz Festival<\/strong> he will present a project that seems tailor-made for the audience of the festival: a exciting and harmonious combination of jazz, rock&roll, groove and psychedelic. Big Vicious<\/strong> is a project started by Avishai Cohen <\/strong>some years ago in New York \u2013 a non-standard ensemble with two drummers, two guitar players and a leader, giving the artists a great freedom of expression and interaction.<\/p>\n The artists joining Avishai Cohen<\/strong> are guitar players Yonatan Albalak<\/strong> and Uzi Ramirez<\/strong> and drummers Ziv Ravitz<\/strong> and Aviv Cohen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The 100% Indian Project Ekalavya<\/strong> is a special event for the main stage of the festival.\u00a0 Indian violinist Abhijith PS Nair<\/strong> and the new star of India, young bass player Mohini Dey<\/strong>, will bring on stage the colors and stories of India. They will mix funk jazz, world music and classical Carnatic music from the south of India in an electrifying show, infused with oriental harmonies. The two representatives of the new wave of Indian jazz will play together with Sandeep Mohan, Joe Johnson \u0219i Arun Roop.<\/p>\n Pink Freud<\/strong> (Poland), after 20 years of active creativity, is considered one of the most original voices in contemporary jazz. Their music, mainly a fusion of jazz, punk and rock, has conquered audiences, especially the younger members. Bandleader Wojtek Mazolewski<\/strong>, well-known to the Garana audience for this amazing show with this own quartet in 2016, was a contributor to the generational change in his native country, bringing jazz back in the spotlight. Pink Freud<\/strong> continues to change tastes and attract new fans, in part due to the freshness of their compositions and their energizing style, always in tune with the audience. Together with Wojtek Mazolewski on guitar, Pink Freud are Adam Milwiw-Baron on trumpet, Rafal Klimczuk on drums and Karol Gola on baritone sax.<\/p>\n Elena M\u00eendru Finnection & Adam Ba\u0142dych <\/strong><\/p>\n Polish violinist Adam<\/strong> Ba\u0142dych<\/strong> is the special guest of Elenei M\u00eendru<\/strong>\u2019s band that won over the Garana Jazz Festival audience in 2014 – Elena M\u00eendru Finnection<\/strong>. With this new project, the singer invites the listener on an exotic musical journey alongside an acoustic jazz quartet that also includes the violin, an instrument that brings a distinctive and special element to their music. The concert will mainly showcase Elena\u2019s compositions. Their music is an original combination of jazz with traditional Romanian elements.<\/p>\n The line-up is rounded with valuable names of the Romanian and international jazz world. Pianist Mircea Tiberian<\/strong> will present the project La Classe operaia va in Paradiso<\/em> <\/strong>alongside Claudio Puntin, Daniel Erdmann, Chris Dahlgren and Tilo Weber.<\/p>\n Moldavian ethno-jazz bands Trigon<\/strong> and Alex Calancea Band<\/strong> will perform on the La R\u0103scruce Inn stage. There will also be concerts by Benny Rietveld Trio feat.
