Per “BASS VIKING” Mathisen has put together this powerhouse quartet, with his long time musical collaborator, Norwegian keys man, Jan Gunnar Hoff, the French guitar extraordinaire, Nguyên Lê and the living legend Englishman, Gary Husband on drums.

This band is a European super star line up which will present music that spans all the way from lyrical acoustic landscapes to high voltage rockin’ jazz. All 4 are individual virtuosos with extreme abilities on their instruments and the interplay is haunting and explosive.

Per “BASS VIKING” Mathisen, upright acoustic and electric bass player, was born into Norway’s most in demand musical family, often referred to as Norway’s answer to Niels Henning Ørsted Pedersen on upright acoustic and Jaco Pastorius on electric bass. Has performed in as many as 45 different countries worldwide and released as many as 17 CD’s under his own name as a leader, composer and producer. Played with internationally recognised artists like: Alex Acuna, Mike Stern, Gary Husband, Jerry Donohue, Hiram Bullock, Terje Rypdal, Terri Lyne Carrington, Bill Bruford, Bill Evans, Geri Allen, Adam Nussbaum, Keith Carlock, Maria Schneider to name a few.

Jan Gunnar Hoff, synthesizers and acoustic piano player, has released 10 CD’s under his own name and performed with all the leading Norwegian musicians and has collaborated with world stars like, Mike Stern, Maria Joao, Kenwood Dennard, Pat Metheny, Jon Surman, Lars Danielsson. A true versatile and virtuoso musician, switching between electric synthesizers to acoustic grand piano in the most effortless way.

Nguyên Lê, recording artist, composer, arranger, is one of the most versatile and independent guitarists in the world – going far beyond the bounds of jazz music and shaped by the most varied of influences such as Asian music, modern jazz, fusion or classic rock. He released 16 CD’s in his own name and played with super stars like: Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Maria Schneider, Matt Garrison, Peter Erskine. He received lots of prestigious prizes for his work.

Gary Husband, recording artist, composer and multi instrumentalist from the UK. Mr. Husband is world famous as a drummer and equally acclaimed as a keyboard player. Not any other musician on the planet can show for such a long double instrumental carrier like he can. Released many CD’s in his own name and toured the world countless times with the likes of: John McLaughlin, Allan Holdsworth, Jack Bruce, Billy Cobham.
